Guinea pigs playing in the Eglu Go Hutch Guinea pigs playing in the Eglu Go Hutch

The Eglu Go Hutch is the simple, stylish, straightforward way to keep pets. Suitable for two to three guinea pigs, this will make a wonderful home for your new friends. It has been designed to enable your pet guinea pigs to express their natural instincts, offering them a fun environment that will make them feel really at home.

The Eglu Go Guinea Pig Hutch offers two main areas for your pet to explore. The house is a wonderful hidey-hole to eat, sleep and snuggle up in, and the secure 1m run is perfect for a run around and some fresh air. The biggest benefit of having a hutch and run in one is your pet's freedom to go in and out as it pleases, according to its own routine. As a result, your pet will be happy, relaxed and easier to handle.

Low Maintenance Guinea Pig House

Keeping the Eglu Go Hutch in order is easy thanks to its clever design. This guinea pig house has wipe-clean surfaces and a slide-out bedding tray to make it easy to clean, and, made from energy-efficient polymers, it never needs to be treated. It is a hygienic home for your pets, naturally weather resistant, and at the end of its life it can be recycled.

The Eglu Go Hutch is easy to clean thanks to it's accessible design. The slide out dropping tray makes cleaning simple

Cleaning the Eglu Go Guinea Pig Hutch is a doddle, and just a few minutes each week will keep it looking (and smelling) smart and fresh. The large door at the back allows easy access to the house, and the slide-out tray makes it quick to change your pet's bedding. The droppings make a great fertiliser for your plants, just add them to your compost bin. The Eglu's smooth plastic surfaces do not absorb moisture, making it more hygenic than a wooden hutch, and it can be washed all over with a quick blast of a hose or pressure washer. Easy!

Guinea pigs in the Eglu Go Hutch run Guinea pigs in the Eglu Go Hutch run

The Eglu Go Hutch comes complete with a 1m run, suitable for two to three guinea pigs to run around in. Made from strong, steel weld mesh, it is virtually impossible for predators to break, and the removable anti-tunnel wire base will prevent predators from digging in. The unique tunnel-proof panels have been proven in rigorous testing to be fox and badger resistant, so you can be sure that your pets are safe even when you are not at home. Depending on the size of your pet, the underfloor wire may not contain them if positioned on uneven ground. You should always try to place the run on the flattest ground possible. If the run does not sit completely flat you can peg it down for extra security.

The run comes in sections for easy transportation and storage, and it can be put together in minutes. Once assembled, you'll find that it really looks the part, with a dark green coating that blends into the garden beautifully. The run has spacious vertical sides, increasing in width to 97cm and reaching a height of 71cm at the end, giving your pets plenty of room to stand upright, and the run door can be opened to stroke, feed, or lift your pets out regularly.

Alternatively, choose the 2m run to give your pets extra space. When opting for this length of run it will come with an anti-tunnel run skirt and a separate piece of underfloor wire.

The Eglu Go Guinea Pig Hutch comes complete with a hay rack, feed bowl and water bottle. The hay rack is mounted on the inside of the removable back panel, making it quick and easy to fill or remove. This is very handy as guinea pigs are herbivores, and they will munch through a lot of hay (in fact, it should form the main part of their diet).

Water is very important to pets too, and the water bottle fits into the hay rack inside the house. Keeping the water in the Eglu guinea pig house means that it is protected from direct sunlight, reducing the formation of algae, and the water is unlikely to freeze during winter due to the insulation of the house.

The stainless steel dish can be placed inside the Eglu, or in the run, and it is ideal for filling with dry food or fresh vegetables. Yum!

The Eglu Go Hutch has a run large enough to give your pets the exercise they need to develop strong bones and stay fit and healthy, and they will love being able to go in and out of their house as they please. Unlike other runs, this comes with an in-built anti-tunnel base, so your pets won't escape, and your garden will remain intact.

Although grass is great for rabbits and guinea pigs, it is possible to keep them if you don't have a lawn. You can keep the Eglu on a patio area, but you should provide them with a deep sand box to dig in.

- Devon ,

Looks good but there are gaps when the back door is closed.

Omlet Says: Hello, Thank you very much for taking the time to review your products. One of our customer service advisors has emailed you in order to resolve the issue with the gaps. I hope this will help. Yours, The Omlet Team

An excellent choice for our guinea pigs plus a suggestion for an insulating material -

We have had our Eglu hutch and 6m run for about a month or so and we are very pleased with it. Assembly wasn't too bad - my 9-year-old daughter and husband did it together in around an hour - the run is extremely versatile in how you can use it and the hutch is well designed and easy to clean. Our guinea pigs seem very content too which is the important thing. The run/hutch are also easy to move around the garden. On minor downside is that the all-weather cover doesn't stop the rain coming in as it obviously isn't all-encompassing so using the current storms in the UK as an example = a run that is very wet around the edges. I have just purchased a second cover to try and mitigate against this. One other point - someone reviewing further down the thread was looking for suggestions for materials to use to insulate the hutch as Omlet no longer provide the insulating pads. I do have a suggestion - I occasionally buy my groceries from an organic/environmentally-friendly farm shop called Eversfield www.eversfieldorganic.co.uk; they deliver your purchases to you using pads of sheeps' wool along with ice packs. I now have several meteres of the sheeps' wool and it looks ideal to use to fill the gaps between the interior/exterior of the hutch and it is a natural and breathable material. So my suggestion would be to either order from Eversfield or try and source the sheeps' wool elsewhere. Eversfield are very good too by the way.

Great product - so much better for humans & piggies so far!! -

So much better than our previous wooden hutches which kept dying - not sure about longer term durablity yet, but this hutch is so much easier to maintain. Much better for the piggies being able to get out in the grass without us picking them up and watching them for safety. Its getting colder and I feel confident this is a much better option for our piggies and for me as it is simpler.

Fantastic hutch - Flintshire ,

I chose the Eglu hutch for our 2 baby Guinea pigs as I wanted a fox proof hutch. We’ve had the hutch over a month now and we’re very pleased with it. So easy to keep clean and easy to move around with 2 people carrying it. I was apprehensive about the cost but it will last for years and I love the fact that the guineas are able to move in and out of the run in the day and are safely locked up at night. The cover has been fantastic in the rain as it means they can still be outside eating grass. The 1 metre run is fine for 2 Guineas. It was a real pain to put together though!! It was missing a pack of screws when it arrived, however the customer service team were great and sent another pack.

Perfect - children and guinea pigs are very happy! -

We have kept guinea pigs in a wooden run up until now and the weekend moan has always been the cleaning out of the hutch. Love the pets, hate the chores!!! The eglu is a revelation. It is expensive yes but as others have commented - you get what you pay for. I was dreading the 'build' but it actually took 2 of us only 20 minutes to get the house part together and then another hour or so for the run, the hardest part was that the run kept detaching from the lid but once it is finished it is perfectly stable. Cleaning now takes 15 minutes and actually we are using much less hay and sawdust so a saving there. The baby pigs love their new home and I am so sold I am now saving for the Omlet chicken run as well !
