The cube is a brilliant piece of kit. The chickens love it - we love it and everyone who has come to visit us loves it. The only thing that would make it better would be if the run section could easily unclip from the cube to make cleaning the front of the cube and the steps much easier.

Well, after considerable thought we have decided to keep bantams again and after looking at an appropriate residence for said bantys, we selected the Eglu in a fetching shade of blue. Today was the day for construction! And I have to say that the instructions were crystal clear and after a couple of hours (including tea breaks and time to stand back and admire my handiwork!) the Eglu was finished! EXCELLENT!! The only criticism I could say was that there were a couple of really tight bolt hole alignments which resulted in a bit of huffing and puffing....other than that, a superb house for the bantys !! It just took one or two days for my new Ex batt Hens[3 birds] to get the hang of the ladde but after that they've got on fine. Have had egg's from day one and all seem to be happy chicks.

Upgraded from eglu, same great quality but now we can keep more chickens!

As foster parents we like to incorporate animals as a form of therapy. The children helped in choosing the hut! Assisted in the assembly, 35 minutes less than the recommended time, helped to choose the chickens and named them, chickens settled in in no time. Easy to clean, fox proof, dog proof, and more importantly kid proof a product - well worth buying for the urban chicken keeper.

The great things are always simple...remember the old engineers saying..Keep it Simple Stupid.(KISS).What more do you want with feeder than to keep food clean and dry..that's exactly what the Grub does...I love it but more importantly ..so do the hens..

Having upgraded from an Eglu to a Cube I was unsure of the complete difference in design and it took me a while to convince myself to part with my funky looking Eglu, however, I have to say I love the Cube and like the Eglu, it's also very easy to clean, the poop trays on the Cube are at a level where bending is no longer needed and the extra space the hens have is brilliant.

Easy to erect only took me about three hours with help of two year old!!!

Very robust and "looks smart". Not too difficult to assemble, but needed to use "brute force" to bolt some bits together. Once run attached, impossible to access ladder to clean. Would be useful if run could be unclipped easily. Certainly is not effortless to move around - takes 2 of us to move it. Our chickens love their new home, and are happily laying eggs.

We had considered getting a normal chicken ark or similar but decided that they were expensive (£150+), keep requiring treating and difficult to clean. As a result, we selected going for an eglu Cube which although they are 3-4 times the price it will last 10+ times longer than a timber one, not require annual treating. It takes approximately 2 hours to put together but is relatively easy. The only reason we didn't give it 5 stars are: no removable tray in the nesting box which makes it harder to clean, the Grub and Glug containers have hooks on the reverse which are not long enough meaning that it is too easy for the chickens to knock off, and thirdly, the ladder ends approximately 1 foot off the ground which is fine for 'able' chickens but for battery chickens, as we have, they don't have the strength or understanding to be able to jump or fly up - perhaps a ladder extension should be available for purchase? Overall though, very pleased with our puchase and exceptional customer service from Omlet.
