As with all Omlet products the Zippi tunnel has been designed to be easy to clean. Using the door in the Zippi frame, you can temporarily close the tunnel so your rabbits can’t access it. Then you simply open the connectors to release each section of tunnel. The burrow pipes can be washed out with water and a pet safe disinfectant, drainage and ventilation holes along the length mean you don’t have to worry about drying the pipes.

The Zippi tunnels are designed to ensure your rabbit stays safe and protected when exploring.

The tunnels have a unique locking connector at each end which requires two buttons to be released to open it. In addition each connector can be further secured, if necessary, using the locking screw.

The tunnels have been temperature tested and can be used in hot and cold conditions, and each section of activity tunnel has ventilation and drainage holes throughout its entire length.

We recommend closing off the tunnels at night to keep your rabbits safe in their hutch.

How do I Connect Zippi to a Run?

The Zippi door frame can be connected to any wire mesh run or to any solid surface, for example the wall of a wooden hutch.

Before attaching the Zippi door frame you will need to cut a square hole in the mesh or wood. All of the fittings are included, as are clear and complete instructions. You will receive cover strips to place over the cut edges so that you are left with a very neat finish.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it suitable for all rabbits, even giant ones?

Yes, the tunnels are 18cm in diameter, so even average sized giant breed rabbits should be able to use them comfortably.

Do the tunnels bend?

The tunnels are flexible, and bend to a certain degree. However, if you want the tunnels to go around something or in a different direction, you will need to use the 90 degree corner pieces.

Please check the tunnels regularly for any ware or damage, especially if the tunnel is bent. Immediately remove the tunnel if you spot any deterioration.

Are the tunnels suitable for cats or chickens?

The tunnels have been designed to be used by rabbits and guinea pigs only, and are therefore not suitable for any other pet.

Are the tunnels chew proof?

Although super strong and chew resistant, the tunnels are not 100% chew proof. Give your rabbits or guinea pigs plenty of opportunities to chew on more suitable things, and lock the tunnels if you are worried about other animals chewing through the tunnels at night.

How big are the tunnels?

The standard tunnel piece is 90cm long and 18cm in diameter. You can find dimensions for all other Zippi accessories here.

How many tunnels can you connect together?

You can connect as many tunnels together as you like, and you can add more tunnels and accessories at a later date.

How do they connect?

Tunnels connect to other tunnels or other accessories with connectors. There are two types of connectors. Straight connectors join Zippi tunnels, T-sections or corners together. They can also be used in conjunction with a Zippi door frame to connect the tunnel to a run or playpen. Angled connectors join the Zippi tunnels to a hutch or angled run when used in conjunction with a Zippi door frame.

Can I cut the tunnels in half?

We do not recommend cutting the tunnels as the edges can become very sharp and affect how well the connectors work.

When using support hoops, will the tunnels be low enough for my guinea pig to access them?

Yes, that shouldn’t be a problem. Push the hoops in as far into the ground as possible where the guinea pig is entering the tunnels to make it easier. If they seem to be struggling we would suggest creating a ramp or a step leading up to the tunnel entrance.

We adopted 2 rabbits from the RSPCA, we had the hutch and a run but we were asked to connect them. Having searched and read reviews we bought a hutch to run connector. It was so easy to fit with clear instructions. The connector comes with a sliding door however due to the design of our hutch (bought from another source) the door wouldn't slide, but to be honest it really isn't a game changer. I would definitely recommend this product and has made my daughter very happy as it enabled us to adopt her longed for rabbits

Zippi makes a great low profile Catio for my dad’s 55+ community - Sue, Washington, 31 July 2023

After I added the cat balcony enclosure for my 3 cats, I wanted one for my dad. He was worried about the 6ft height and neighbors complaining to the HOA. The zippi double height was the perfect compromise. Absolutely love the platforms and would love them for the catios! The ramp worked perfectly for in front of the cat door - although I’ve got a corner platform coming to put in front of the door. I also used the green door kit pieces from the coop line to frame in the cut area for the cat door. Only suggestion I’ve got is 1 long piece to insert into the door to keep it locked vs 2. And honestly if you offered a 3ft high cat tree, it would be fun to add a few small steps and scratching post. So many more things that can be done mixing and matching the different lines - wish omlet would get more creative in mixing cat/rabbit enclosures!
