I've had the Maya cat litter box for about a month now - I wanted to give it some proper use before leaving a review. I'm absolutely delighted with it. Up to now, I had two standard covered trays in the spare bathroom upstairs and the entire room was covered in a dusting of cat litter. It got tracked out on to the landing and down the stairs. Plus the room always smelled faintly of cat poo, no matter how well I cleaned it. It all felt very unhygienic and I was reluctant to use the bathroom for anything else. However I wanted to reclaim my bathroom for drying laundry so I moved the litter tray down to a corner of the kitchen and set about finding a better solution than the standard trays. I spend ages researching various options and eventually decided on the Maya. Since I've been using it, litter tracking has been virtually eliminated. Poo smells are only very faint for a few minutes after the event. Cleaning it is a breeze - it took me a while to get the hang of pulling the liner out without disturbing the platform but now it's a cinch. The cats adapted to it very easily. I placed their old tray inside for a few days and left the door open so they'd get used to peeing in a cupboard. Transitioning over to the closed door and litter liner happened without issues. It looks great in the corner of the kitchen, no one would guess what it's for. I've asked visitors if they noticed any odd smells and was told no. The whole setup feels very hygienic and tidy. Overall I'm very happy and I think it's well worth the money.

Wish I’d bought this sooner! This is our third cat litter box since getting our kitten a year ago (the first 2 were different brands) We needed an enclosed top entry tray because our dog would not leave the previous enclosed cat litter tray alone; even though it was cleaned twice a day he managed to steal cat stools 🤢 This one is absolutely purrfect - looks great, has excellent functionality, and best of all, keeps the dog OUT!!! Great for a small house - An Omleteer, 29 March 2023

We live in a small house with two cats. Due to rehoming they are indoors for 4-6 weeks, so we knew we'd need a decent litter situation to keep smells contained when we're all in close quarters! The Maya tray is great; it was easy to assemble with clear instructions, and the cats are very happy using it. As they hadn't been using an enclosed tray in the RSPCA cattery, we started by having the whole liner outside the box for a couple of days, than half in, then fully in with the door open, and then closed (the process took a week). They adjusted without any issues and seem perfectly happy using it. We're happy because it isn't smelly - thanks to the charcoal filter the smell doesn't gather at the top of the box, so no issues for them or us when we open it to clean it. We check it 2-3 times a day as multiple cats are using it, and the tray is easy to slide in and out once you've got the knack although it would be tricky if you have limited arm mobility or sore joints (you have to squeeze both sides together and lift the back a bit). It looks perfectly good in the room, and has a plant on top to further disguise it!

Great, but could be better - Nicola, 9 March 2023

We bought 2 of the Maya front entrance boxes with extra storage, and they look great in our lounge. An extra bonus is room for a cat bed on the top (maybe Omlet could make one specifically to fit - we had trouble sourcing one the right size). We had a couple of 'accidents' when we first put them in place due to the cats managing to wee down the tiny gap between the liner and the front door but otherwise they've been a great success. There are a couple of things that could be improved though... I'm mystified why the wire support around the top of a litter tray liner that is designed to go into a rectangular box is round. It sticks out at the front and stops the door from closing properly. I ended up bending the wire to make corners, so it fits in neatly, but was worried that it would snap in my hands. It's very difficult to hook the back of the liner over the little 'ledge' screwed to the back of the box. The only way to do this is to get on your hands and knees and either bend your arm at a most peculiar angle or stick your head virtually inside the box. If the liner isn't hooked over the ledge it sags at the back and the liner starts to crumple inwards. It would make far more sense to have a wire insert in the back of the liner the same as the one in the front. The bag would then stand upright on its own, and the ledge could be dispensed with. A small re-design for the liner and you would have a 5 star product.

Sleek & super functional - Victoria, Georgia, 11 December 2022

I bought this a month ago and it's going great! After spending lots $$ on a cat box furniture piece that my cat couldn't keep her butt in.... this really saved the day. We haven't had any issues. The bag inside is a great feature. It did take ~4 days for her to warm up to it...but give it time.
