I was on the fence because it is an extra investment but it was so worth it! I've had my flock for a month and wasn't getting out early enough for them. Once I installed the automatic door they were getting out into their run an hour or two earlier and it had helped them settle in so much more. I have four hens and they are no longer snippy with each other and are getting along so much better, I definitely think it's because they are getting out that bit earlier! Also at night I don't have to worry about them as much, I know the door has closed and it is safer than the wooden door that was there before. I installed it onto a wooden coop and it was quite easy to do, just took maybe 30 minutes of my time.

I've tried a few different automatic coop doors. Decided to splurge and purchase this after our last one didn't make it through the winter. Time will tell more about durability and long term use. Initial thoughts are that it's well constructed and feel like quality. I was a bit surprised and having to put it together, for example installing the drive gear; curious as to why that is. Installation was easy as they provided multiple different styles of mounting clips depending on your coop. Very much appreciated. I got a device error upon initial setup. However, taking the batteries out and putting them back in fixed that, odd. Simple 3 button input once you figure out the flow. Took me a second to figure out to long press the power button. I did not consult the instructions as I figured it would be intuitive enough. Photo sensor seems pretty precise. We have shade from trees and it's not causing any issues. So for I have no complaints and looking forward if it holds up.

We’ve had an Omlet door for 3 years. The way we set it up allowed the goats to rub up against the wires and severed a few. We tried to reconnect them but to no avail. I couldn’t keep our battery high enough to open and close the door. So we bought the new set up with back up AC power and it’s perfect. I didn’t mention that we live at 8200 feet in Colorado- it has taken 3 years of snow, high wind and mud. Never failed. It’s a beast.

Our door has been such a blessing. We had one hiccup with the power supply. I think it may not have been protected from the weather well enough. We bought a weather proof electrical box to plug it in and voila, perfect.

Was so glad to see my wifi actually reached my coop, but it also worked without it! Easy to set up, works like it should. Makes life easier for me and the chickens aren't waiting on me

Got it, assembled it, accepted the defaults. Installed in 2 hours (wooden coop had 2X4 backing that had to be counter bored . . . should have used the surface mounting hardware - phase 2). Love it - being able to monitor from phone is fantastic. Well engineered (I am an engineer with 40+ years of experience). Well done!!!

I have the auto door in my chickens shed within a fenced pen , as foxes are around. It’s been so good to make sure it’s closed and not rely on family to close the door every night. I also adjust the open and closing timing from my phone which is great, based on light and weather. The thing to do is watch the battery life and change regularly. The light is amazing and I’ve watched the chickens head for the door when it turns on, that still amazes me! Couldn’t ever go back to manual opening and closing everyday ! Worth the investment to keep the chickens safe from predators.

A simple little light that makes all the difference. It's a great way of being able to look out of our kitchen window and know that the hens have a guiding light home. It's also nice to be able to count them as they walk in to make sure they're all present and correct!

This is the 2nd door I’ve ordered from Omelet. Put on my new coop. Chickens adjust quickly. Good for my husband while I’m at the beach

Finally took the plunge to purchase an automatic door after keeping chickens for over 14 years. I am now kicking myself for not buying one earlier. We went for the internal light option and the hens went to bed no issues. All I can say is- it works, go for it.
